Strong tremors may ease: Pak Met Dept
Islamabad, Oct 10. (PTI) After experiencing sporadic aftershocks in the aftermath of the October 8 massive earthquake, Islamabad and other areas in Pakistan had a quite night with Met department officials saying strong tremors may ease by today.
The critical period following Saturday's earthquake would come to an end tonight and there is no threat of a high magnitude earthquake in the near future, Director General Meteorological Department Qamar Zaman said here today.
But a chain of low intensity aftershocks may continue for three to four weeks and the frequency would gradually decrease, he told PTV.
