Quake a calamity, Indian PM says
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called the earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir a "national calamity" and put the death toll at at least 1,300.
Mr Singh told a news conference in Srinagar that 30,000 homes had been hit, half of them destroyed. He pledged 5bn rupees ($116m) in additional aid.
The announcement came after he toured devastated areas.
Thousands of people still need food and shelter in Jammu and Kashmir and many are angry they have yet to see help.
